Swim Lessons

Classes are offered weekday afternoons, early evenings, and Saturdays.

The National YMCA offers its Swim Lesson Program as a vehicle to deliver our unique mission of putting Christian principles into practice to build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.  This program expands on YMCA philosophy, aquatic program concepts, and incorporates recent research relating to learning how to swim.  The program is designed to: ensure the student's safety, enhance the student's enjoyment of the learning process and provide consistent, progressive success for the student.  The program focuses on student-centered learning.  Students are encouraged to explore and are guided through their discovery process.  Components of the YMCA Swim Lessons Program are: The YMCA's Character Development program (Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility); personal safety; personal growth; water adjustment, stroke development; water games, sports, and rescue.
