| Preschool/Youth Gymnastics, Tumbling and Dance | |
| The YMCA's Gymnastics, Tumbling and Dance Center, located on the west side of the YMCAs Dudley Street parking lot, is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment. It features a "Tumbl Trak," a 30 foot long trampoline designed for fun and effective tumbling instruction. In addition, the Center boasts a 40 x 40 foot foam block floor, 60-foot rod floor, uneven bars, a vault, two balance beams, parallel bars, rings, and a climbing rope. The YMCA is excited to announce its new progressive gymnastic program. Students will advance at their own pace and develop self-esteem while perfecting gymnastics and tumbling skills. Personalized charts will reflect progression throughout each session and graduation certificates will be presented to each student upon successful completion of a level. Strength and endurance will come naturally as children progress through this motivating program. Parent/Tot: For walkers up to three years old. Parent-Tot interactive program designed to give the child and parent an opportunity to enjoy fun-filled activities throughout the Center. Different theme each week creates a fun learning environment. Gymnastics 3-5: Tumbling and gymnastics activities for children 3-5 years old using "Tumbl Trak", vault, bars, beam, and floor and rope. Gymnastic 6yrs and older: Tumbling and gymnastics activities for the older set. Children build strength, endurance, and flexibility while learning fundamental gymnastics skills on “Tumbl Trak,” vault, bars, beam, floor, and rope. Pre- Power Tumbling: Classes are available for those six and older interested in learning and improving their tumbling skills using our 60-foor rod floor! 12 and Up Advanced Tumbling: Classes are available for those 12 and older that already can do at least a back handspring. They will be able to learn and improve their tumbling skills. Boys Athletic Strength Training: Strength training for boys ages six and above through the use of gymnastics equipment. Gymnastics skills and body awareness are taught through the use of parallel bars, rings, vault, and floor equipment. Flying Starz Power Tumbling Team: For ages five and older and all skill levels. Power Tumbling competition provided through AAU and USTA. Regular season meets begin in the fall and run through spring. The extended season runs through summer. For YMCA members only. For more information, contact office. Twisters Gymnastics Team: Gymnastics compulsory and optional competition provided at dual (inter-Y), state and national levels. Meets in the fall and run through the spring. Team members selected on a tryout basis. Participants develop self-esteem, confidence, time management skills, regard for others and much more. For YMCA members only. For more information contact office. PRIVATE LESSONS Available for Dance, Tumbling & Gymnastics. The individual teacher and parent set up each lesson. Private lessons are for 50 minutes long and are $15.50 for members and $31 for non-members. Classes offered weekday afternoons and evenings and Saturdays. Individual class offerings will be available at the Center and at the YMCA front desk prior to new session registration. On-going registration. Specialized evaluations provided for individual placement. Y Dance Gymnastics and tumbling birthday parties available for YMCA members by reservation.
