YMCA Community Childcare Center

YMCA Community Child Care Center Located at 520 E. Piper St., our center serves the community as a professional in quality child care. Our staff is required to have a college education and/or early childhood experience and must attend 15 hours of in-service training per year. Additionally, they are certified in CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens/HIV training.

Our center is licensed by Department of Children and Family Services.

The daily schedule includes breakfast, a hot lunch and an afternoon snack; large and small group interaction and outdoor activities. A daily report is filled out for each child by the teachers for the parents at the end of the day. This report tells the parent what activities their child enjoyed, how well they ate and rested, their behavior and other information.

In addition to our classroom, our Center has a large gym for indoor play. Also, field trips are a part of our curriculum. They may include a picnic; going to the library; a visit to a farm; or just walking around the neighborhood. We observe six of the major holidays, plus the day after Thanksgiving and the week between Christmas and New Year's Day.
